Taylor was born in the United States of America in Pennsylvania, on the 13th of December, 1989. She lived with her parents, Scott Swift and Andrea Swift and her younger brother Austin Swift on a Christmas tree farm. She already had a great interest in music since she was at a tender age.
Taylor picked up the skill of playing the guitar when a computer repair man came to her house to fix her computer taught her a few chords, and since then, she played the guitar non-stop and later even wrote her own songs, that is really amazing for the fact that she was not even 15 yet.
A chance for Taylor to pursue her dream career as a musician finally came true, when her family moved to Nashville some time later, she studied in Hendersonville High School there as well. Taylor would go from radio station to radio station hoping to get a record deal, and eventually she got a development deal with the radio station, RCA. A development deal not a record deal though, it is a deal where the radio station would watch over the artiste for about a year or 2 to see if she was worth being given a record deal. However, after a year, RCA was not ready to give Taylor a record deal, even though for that year Taylor had been going there almost every day with new music she had written, but instead of staying for another year, Taylor decided that she would walk away as she did not think that she would be able to record her music.
However, one fine day, when Taylor had a performance at the Bluebird cafe (also where Faith Hill got discovered), she was noticed by a guy named Scott Borchetta, who spoke to Taylor after her performance saying that he wants her on his record label, however at that time he did not have one, and asked her to wait for him, Taylor did.
So, Taylor signed a record label with Scott Borchetta at the Big Machine Records, and released her first single, titled Tim McGraw in 2006, where she and her mum would package into envelopes and mail/send them to radio stations. Taylor also released other titles on her self titled debut album like teardrops on my guitar and our song which were also very well received.
After making her debut, Taylor continued to progress even further, winning several grammy awards, and video music awards (VMA) for all the consequences albums too.
What's next? Well, Taylor continues to top charts and release her next album, Fearless, where she had her first headlining tour, and concert tickets could sell out in as little as 2min, which is crazy! Following the album, she released Speak Now, Red and 1989, and went on a world tour for them as well. The Red album then marked the start of the transition from country music to pop music for Taylor. It started with one of her hit songs, Trouble. The audience loved the song which was not really in the country genre of music, Taylor decided to try something new, which was to create an album that is mainly made of pop songs, and that album was 1989.
1989 was one of the most popular and well received albums of all time, receiving many awards, whether it was the billboard awards or the Grammy awards. 1989 recently also received album of the year at the Grammy awards 2016. Taylor finished her 1989 world tour last year in Melbourne, in December, just before her 26th birthday, and it was said that she would be taking a break from going on tour or releasing albums for the time being.
Taylor also is now dating music producer, DJ and singer, Calvin Harris. They have been going on very well and strong, recently even celebrating their 1 year anniversary with a cake, and adorable social media posts. For a young artiste like Taylor, what she has achieved so far is honestly quite awesome :)
